Terms of Use
Effective date: 11 July 2026
These terms cover your use of the Mull app, developed by Paul Barber (“we”, “us”). By using Mull you agree to them. Where these terms don’t say otherwise, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
What Mull is
Mull records voice notes and turns them into transcripts and summaries using AI that runs entirely on your device. Your notes are yours: see our Privacy Policy — nothing you record leaves your iPhone.
Free trial and payment
- Free trial. Mull is fully functional for 7 days from first launch, free, no payment details required.
- After the trial, making new recordings requires Mull Premium: a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock. Current prices are always shown in the app before you buy.
- Your notes remain yours regardless. Whether or not you ever pay, you can always play, read, search, export, and back up every note you’ve made. We do not hold your notes hostage.
Subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- The lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase and does not renew.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
AI accuracy — please read this one
Transcripts and summaries are produced by AI models running on your phone. They can and will make mistakes — misheard words, wrong names, imperfect summaries. Always check the transcript against the recording before relying on it for anything important. Mull is a note-taking aid, not a certified transcription service, and must not be relied on for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical purposes.
Recording responsibly
You are responsible for what you record. Laws about recording other people vary by country and situation — make sure you have any consent the law requires before recording anyone other than yourself.
Backups are your responsibility
Your notes exist only on your device (and in any backups you make). Deleting the app deletes your notes. We provide a backup feature (Settings → Back Up All Notes) and recommend using it regularly. We cannot recover lost notes — we never had them.
Warranty and liability
Mull is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including lost recordings or inaccurate transcripts. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Mull in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be noted in App Store release notes. Continuing to use Mull after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
