Privacy Policy

Mull is a voice-notes app built around one promise: nothing you record ever leaves your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what that means.

What we collect

Nothing.

Mull has no servers, no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not collect, receive, store, or have any way to access:

• your recordings
• your transcripts or summaries
• your note titles, tags, or searches
• your name, email address, or any identifier
• your usage of the app

We could not read your notes if we wanted to. There is no “we” on the other end — the app is the whole product.

Where your notes live

Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored only on your device, in Mull’s private app storage. Transcription and summarizing are performed by AI models that run entirely on your iPhone’s own chip — the app works in airplane mode.

If you delete the app, your notes are deleted with it. If you make a backup (Settings → Back Up All Notes), the backup file goes wherever you send it — AirDrop, the Files app, your own iCloud Drive — and is under your control, not ours.

The two times Mull touches the network

• One-time AI model download. On first use, Mull downloads its speech and summary models (about 2.3 GB) from Hugging Face, a public model-hosting service. This is an ordinary file download: no audio, no notes, and no personal information are sent — but like any web request, the server can see your device’s IP address. After this download, the models are stored on your phone and Mull works fully offline.
• Purchases. Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple Account. We never see your payment details, and Apple does not give us your identity — only an anonymous receipt that the purchase happened.

That’s the complete list. Mull makes no other network connections.

Your microphone

Mull asks for microphone access for one purpose: recording your voice notes when you tap the record button. Audio is captured only while you’re recording, and it goes nowhere except your device’s storage.

Children

Mull does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children, because it does not collect data from anyone at all.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Mull ever changes what happens to your data, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be called out in the App Store release notes. The promise above — your recordings never leave your device — is the foundation of the product.
